Yoga is a mind and body practice. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. Its an ancient practice that may have originated in India. It involves movement, meditation, and breathing techniques to promote mental and physical well-being.

What is the purpose of yoga?

Yoga is a spiritual, mental and physical practice that has been around since ages. With time, people have discovered a number of health benefits associated with yoga. Yoga does more than burning calories and strengthening muscles, it is a workout which involves both body and mind.

Working for long hours on a desk could not only hurt your spine but also make you feel tired at the end of the day. Practicing certain yoga asanas could help you in improving your posture and also prevent pain in your neck and lower back.

When was the last time you wished you could easily touch your toes which bending forward? Well, practicing yoga could help you in that. Yoga can not only help you in increasing your flexibility but also let you perform complex asanas.

What to wear/ and bring?

Loose, lightweight, breathable, comfortable clothing. Yoga pants are not required but can often feel like the best option. You will be barefoot. Mat, blankets, blocks, straps, eye pillow, cushions are all provided. Just bring an open mind.


What "Style" of Yoga will I be learning?

Hatha Yoga is the foundation for all other styles. I am trained specifically in multiple disciplines:

Iyengar (alignment based).

Yin (slow flow with long relaxing holds to encourage connective tissue release).

Restorative (uses bolsters, blankets, other props. you will not be active, but passive allowing unwinding)

Gentle (mindful, slow, active)

Vinyasa (faster pased, flowing movements which change with each breath)
